CT (Computed Tomography)

A Computed Tomography (CT) scan, also called a CAT scan, uses x-rays and a computer to create cross-section images of your spine or brain. It allows your doctor to view your spine or brain in slices, as if it were sliced layer-by-layer and a picture taken of each slice. It may or may not be performed with a "dye" injected into your bloodstream.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging )

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses radiofrequency waves and a strong magnetic field to provide clear and detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues. The technique has proven very valuable for the diagnosis of a broad range of conditions in all parts of the body including cancer, heart and vascular disease, stroke, and musculoskeletal disorders. MRI requires specialized equipment and expertise and allows evaluation of some body structures that may not be as visible with other imaging methods.

The imaging staff is made up of experienced, Oregon Licensed, American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registered technologist. Most x-rays are done on a walk-in basis. The department is open during the same hours as our Urgent Care Department

The mammography department is regulated under the Food and Drug Administrations’ Mammography Quality Standards Act. This stringent program ensures quality digital mammography to our patients for the earliest possible cancer detection. The technologists performing digital mammography hold an advanced certification, and are required to attend continuing education courses. An American College of Radiology Board Certified Radiologist interprets mammograms. As our standard of practice, all mammograms are put through CAD (computer aided detection). This tool helps the Radiologist find abnormalities on the mammogram. The department also houses a Stereotactic Breast Biopsy table. Of course, urgent matters can be accommodated, but most Mammography is scheduled Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The ultrasound department staff is made up of American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certified technologists. Studies include Abdominal, Pelvic, OB, Renal, Thyroid, Venous Extremity, Testicular, and Soft Tissues. Some restrictions as to diet and fluid intake may apply. Of course, urgent matters can be accommodated, but most Ultrasounds are scheduled Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Often called a DEXA Scan, this test is to evaluate the density of your bones and your risk for osteoporosis and fractures. These are scheduled appointments Monday thru Friday during normal business hours. Some restrictions on your calcium supplements and x-rays in the days preceding this exam may apply.
